Privacy Parent provides resources and information to help make the internet safe, private and secure for children.

The old public service announcement went something like this: “It’s 10 p.m.; do you know where your children are?” These days, your kids don’t need to be wandering around outside to get into trouble. Their online wanderings can lead them to dark corners of the Internet. What’s more, they—and you—are being watched. Marketers, advertisers, the companies behind search engines and others all have a keen interest in monitoring and tracking your children’s digital footprints and mining their personal information for their own financial gain.

Privacy Parent can help you answer the modern version of that ominous PSA with confidence: “Yes, I do know what my children have been browsing, and I know who’s been tracking their activity.”

We launched this site to help parents make informed decisions about how their children use the Internet. We think parents should know which companies are recording which games their kids download and what those companies are doing with that information. We think parents should understand what family members are giving away when they log onto a “free” Wi-Fi hotspot at the airport.

Knowing the risks and knowing the costs of engaging with the digital world can make those interactions safer and more enjoyable. Privacy Parent can help.         This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (referred to below as the “Terms”) has been written to describe the conditions under which this website (the “Site”) is being made available to you by Blindcut LLC (“Blindcut”). The Terms discuss important limitations about the way you may use and rely upon materials you find on the Site. Please read these Terms carefully. By using this Site, you will be deemed to have accepted them. If you do not accept the Terms, you may not use this Site.

        We authorize you to view and download the materials at this Site only for your personal, non-commercial use.         We are the sole owner of the information collected on the Site.

        Blindcut is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children, and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. Blindcut does not intentionally collect information from children under the age of 13, and Blindcut does not target its web site to children.

        We gather two types of information from you when you visit the Site: information you submit to us voluntarily and information our Site gathers automatically.

      4. Information You Provide Us

        To respond to your comments or requests we may ask for such personally identifiable information as your name, address, email address, and/or telephone number(s). You do not, however, need to provide us with personally identifiable information to use the Site.

        We do not want to receive confidential or proprietary information from you through this Site. Any material, information or other communication (“Communications”) you transmit or post to this Site (or any sites or blogs that are linked to this Site) will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. We will have no obligations with respect to the Communications, other than to treat your personally identifiable information in accordance with our privacy practices.

      5. Information We Collect

        When users browse our Site, we may log the IP address and other typical tracking information, but the users identity remains anonymous. This information is aggregated into our log files as site-wide information and is used for system administration and auditing purposes. We may also use the IP addresses to gather statistical information for marketing purposes. Such information is not used to identify individuals or to reveal personal information.

        Blindcut uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer this Site, track users’ movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We do not link your IP address to other personally identifiable information about you.
